ANGELICA STEPHENS was born to an American mother and father in Kanezaka, Japan. being schooled by her mother and father who were scientists and even experimented on their own child, she was raised as a child of the hashimoto which were kept at bay by the shimada clan. her parents were important people to the leaders of the hashimoto and even helped the hashimoto claim their title and reign over kanezaka as the shimada clan crumbled to the ground. it was something that angelica never believed in. it wasn't until she was fifteen that she managed to find her way out of the hashimoto compound and onto the streets that she was not prepared for. it was soon after that she found an older woman who would take her in, she looked worn on in years. calling her nana, the woman helped her find work and would help take care of her. while working, angelica met kiriko. . . she was someone who seemed willing to fight for kanezaka and angelica who was trained in fighting and with a symbiote willing to help her, joined the yōkai.there would be some time that would pass, being friends with the yōkai and helping them with missions led to a strange occurrence for angelica who now went by marigold to try to seperate herself from who her parents wanted her to be. she'd met an orphaned girl who had been orphaned due to interventions of her own parents. she felt the need to raise this girl, to make up for the pain and suffering that her own blood had caused. so she did, she legally adopted kana, raising her as her own but being a yōkai raised no money and her job at the shop wasn't covering her needs and kana's. that's when she heard from a talon recruiter. . . the money was good because the work was dangerous. they'd heard of her skills against the hashimoto and even if it wasn't much impressive. . . it was skill enough for her to become a soldier for talon.leaving kana with nana and a note for kiriko, someone who she'd been developing deep feelings for with a dirty cup to signify that she was going to come back. she'd always come back, she packed her bags and left to train to become a part of talon. it was months and months of training and while she never once stood for what they stood for, she knew that she'd need to do her job to get money to help kana, to help kanezaka and kiriko. it was a price she was willing to pay, symbiote protecting her each time she did a mission but now she had free time. . . marigold and calyx were back home for a limited time and it was getting harder and harder to decide if she was making the right decision.
